On Monday, May 13, a Letter of Intent was signed between Washington State and Sweden for collaboration to strengthen research, technological development, innovation, trade promotion, and policy exchange and development in climate, energy, and sustainability.
It was signed by Governor Inslee for Washington State and State Secretary Sara Modig on behalf of Sweden at the Nordic Innovation Summit by the National Nordic Museum.
Sweden-US Green Transition Initiative is honored to be assigned to drive actions around policy exchange, development, and best practices and to, on the Swedish side, lead cooperation between Innovation clusters together with the Innovation Cluster Accelerator Program (ICAP) on the Washington side and to support the adoption of solutions to lower Greenhouse gas emissions.
GTI is determined to accelerate the green transition spanning from R&I to the adoption of green tech solutions, says Linda Andrén, Executive Director of Sweden-US Green Transition Initiative. We are delighted to have this opportunity to make a difference with our new friends in Washington State.
The work “behind the scenes” has been supported by several parties, among others Maria Brogren, Head of Office of Science and Innovation, Jenny Majidyar, Office of Science and Innovation, and Eva Hunnius Ohlin, Embassy of Sweden in the USA, in collaboration with the Government Offices of Sweden and with significant engagement and support from Washington State.
