Bridging Green Agendas
GTI, The Embassy of Sweden, Vinnova, the Swedish Energy Agency, and Business Sweden were proud hosts of Bridging Green Agendas: Seminar on EU-U.S. Climate Policy Cross Road in partnership with Resources for the Future, Mistra Carbon Exit, and ivl svenska miljöinstitutet.
Recent landmark policies like the U.S. Inflation Reduction Act and the EU's carbon border adjustment mechanism have set ambitious agendas on both sides of the Atlantic. These policies not only drive mutual policy innovation but also shape future climate strategies.
In this seminar, Milan Elkerbout, Fellow, Director, International Climate Policy Initiative, Resources for the Future, presented the recent report Transatlantic Cues: How the United States and European Union Influence Each Other's Climate Policies and elaborated on growing geopolitical challenges.
This in person seminar at the Embassy of Sweden discussed how some of these policies will influence climate action in the coming decade and how we re-evaluate best practices for effective, net-zero oriented climate policy.
