CAKE, the Swedish maker of premium lightweight electric motorcycles, today announces a partnership with the city of San Jose. The city, renowned for its commitment to environmental stewardship and green policies, has launched a Zero Emission Neighborhoods (ZEN) pilot project. This pioneering initiative, in collaboration with CAKE and local retailers, is set to revolutionize last-mile delivery services within the designated ZEN areas, emphasizing a cleaner, greener urban environment.
San Jose has long been at the forefront of the green transition, consistently driving policies that prioritize sustainability and environmental responsibility. This project is a testament to the city's ongoing efforts to reduce its carbon footprint and enhance the quality of life for its residents through innovative, eco-friendly solutions.
The ZEN pilot was initiated by the Sweden-US Green Transition Initiative, a collaborative endeavor between the Swedish government and public agencies. This initiative addresses the urgent challenge of climate change by fostering the development and adoption of sustainable solutions, with a focus on lowering greenhouse gas emissions in both Sweden and the United States.
Key to this project is the close collaboration with Future Mobility, a neutral innovation platform facilitated by Sweden's Innovation Agency, Vinnova, and Lindholmen Science Park. This platform plays a crucial role in funding and supporting projects dedicated to sustainable mobility, aligning perfectly with the goals of the ZEN pilot.
With CAKE Zero Emission's cutting-edge electric bikes and the enthusiastic participation of local retailers, the ZEN project is poised to set a new standard in eco-friendly delivery services. This initiative not only aligns with San Jose's green transition goals but also paves the way for future collaborations and innovations in sustainable urban development.
Eric Asmussen, Chief Growth Officer at CAKE, commented on the collaboration: "Our objective is to create a sustainable urban delivery model that addresses traffic congestion and environmental impacts. Integrating our electric motorcycles into San Jose's last-mile delivery segment is a crucial step in our global mission for a zero-emission future."
The City of San Jose invites the community to join in this exciting journey towards a cleaner, more sustainable future. Together, we can make a significant impact in the fight against climate change, one zero-emission delivery at a time.
