Moderator Linda Andrén, Executive Director US-Sweden Green Transition Initiative, introduced the following speakers:
- Ivan Rupnik, PhD, architectural and urban designer and Associate Professor at Northeastern University. Co-founder of MOD X.
- Gustav Jansson, Associate Professor at Luleå University of Technology in industrialized construction processes.
Ivan co-founded MOD X, a leading design-research and advisory practice focused on industrializing construction, especially in sustainable and affordable housing. He gave a background to his research and then discussed the housing situation in America today and the research he has done between UK, Japan and Sweden. Gustav specializes in industrialized construction, focusing on designing for takt time production. He explained how integrating digital technology with platform predefinitions is key to successful construction industry investments.
The webinar highlighted the advancements in modular construction, its impact on the industry, and future trends, emphasizing the importance of efficiency, sustainability, and adaptability in modern construction practices.
